The Hardest Hit

The African-American community in Chicago is desperate- recession has hit them hard and they are uncertain of the billions set aside by White House to boost the economy will ever trickle down to them. Poverty is increasing in the US but it is apparent the African-American community is the hardest hit. Their economic descent is more distinct and is disproportionate in comparison. Many have never been well-off at the best of times, but there is new emerging poor- the loss of jobs and therefore income, foreclosures, the inability to support themselves have unsettled their young-robbery is rampant and  there is a growing concern of violence, crime, and even murder.
