Banks Try To Lift Latin America And Caribbean

More than 50 million people were lifted form the level of poverty by Latin America and Caribbean in 2002-2007. In the last 5 years the economy showed a considerable progress but now the situations are slowly deteriorating due to the impact of the global crisis. The average growth of 5.3% in a year is gradually decreasing to lower levels. The leading banks have come forward to provide US $ 90 billion to sustain the economic growth achieved in the past. IDB-IIC, World Bank Group, Caribbean development bank and CABEI are the banks coordinating with new ideas to encourage and boost up the growth in the economy and look after the social gains.
